On May 20, 2026, a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in digital health and artificial intelligence was signed at the UNICEF Resident Representative Office in Mongolia by Etugen University's "Center for Digital Health," Seoul National University (SNU) of the Republic of Korea, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The MoU was officially signed and finalized by Professor Hong-Gee Kim representing Seoul National University, Rector, Dr., Professor B. Batsereedene representing Etugen University, and D. Amaraa representing Yan Mu, Deputy Resident Representative of UNICEF Mongolia.
The signing ceremony was attended by B. Bayarbaatar, Director of the Center for Digital Health, Digital Health Scientist at Samsung Medical Center (ROK), and 2015 graduate of Etugen University; Ch. Bataa, Senior Health Specialist at UNICEF; Ts. Munguntsetseg, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor at Etugen University; alongside official representatives from each institution.

This strategic partnership will be implemented through the joint "Center for Digital Health" established by Etugen University and Seoul National University. The Center aims to advance research, training, and innovation in digital health, medical artificial intelligence, and health data science to enhance healthcare outcomes and service delivery quality across Mongolia.
The participating parties agreed to base their collaboration on core principles of upholding children's rights, implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs-2030), expanding the quality and accessibility of social services, and promoting the health and well-being of women and children.

Within the scope of the memorandum, the organizations will collaborate across multiple key domains: executing joint research and pilot projects in digital health, health informatics, and AI; hosting educational programs, seminars, and workshops; developing open-source health technologies; convening academic conferences and policy dialogues; securing research funding; and facilitating faculty and researcher exchange programs.
This cooperation marks a major milestone toward strengthening Mongolia's e-health ecosystem, elevating human resource capabilities in the healthcare sector, and deploying modern technologies and AI-driven clinical solutions.
